Short: Tool for destroyin resident prgs/viruses
Uploader: dingler@IVS.wi.ba-ravensburg.de (Georg Dingler)
Author: dingler@IVS.wi.ba-ravensburg.de (Wolfgang Dingler)
Type: util/virus
SF_VBlast is a little Tool for destroying resident
programs (including resident viruses) in memory so that
it is virusfree before booting again.
That`s important if you want to boot from a virusfree
BootDevice/Disk being sure that no virus is active after boot
and you want to be sure that no virus will survive the
next reset to infect files etc. . If, for example, ShellCommands
of the C-Directory of the BootDrive are already infected which
are started during the boot process, SF_VBlast doesn`t help, there-
fore always boot from a clean Drive/Disk after.
(for example if you want to use virusscanners, analyse prgs and
you want to be sure that those programs (and you) are not cheated
by active viruses).
SF_VBlast should be executed if new programs were started from
which you don`t know if they could contain a virus that possibly
survives a reset.
Additionally a SF_VBlast BootBlock can be installed on
Disks.
Default Drive is DF0, if you want to install to other
Drives in one step you have to change the ToolTypesItem
of Install_SFVBlast_Boot by adding the Drives you want
to DF0 (choose Information from WB-Menue for this Program),
example :
the ToolTypeText "Install_SFVBlast_BB r DF0 GWD_SFVBlast_BootBlock"
can be changed as
follows (the "r"-option should NOT be changed or deleted):
"Install_SFVBlast_BB r DF0,DF1,DF2 GWD_SFVBlast_BootBlock"
After that the BootBlock is installed on DF0, DF1 and DF2 when starting
Install_SFVBlast_Boot.
Important : On some computers it happens, that after executing SF_VBlast,
also with BootBlock, that it will not be booted automatically
(I think on AMIGAs with Turboboards etc.), then please perform
a normal reset with keyboard AFTER coldreset with SF_VBlast.
I do not know the reason, either a little bug in the OS or a
side effect of SF_VBlast, in spite of that SF_VBlast does what
it shell do.
